The Plan – st 7″

Ever half-watch a band, only to later have them turn out to be one of your favorite bands? Yeah that’s the plan for me. They contacted me for their tour during the summer of 2000 and sent this 7″. I was thankfully able to book them a show with a band I was filing in for at the time. I remember really liking them and thought they put on a great show, but I was an idiot and mainly listened to bands that were more interested in flailing around on the floor than playing their instruments. dumb. A couple years ago I pulled this 7″ out and was surprised at how good it was. Two songs on this 7″, while both hold their own, I tend to prefer the A-side’s ‘Ante the Essay’.

One of the guys from the plan later went on to be in North of America, which if you are familiar with will sorta clue you into what the plan sounds like. Though if you ever wanted your North of America a bit noisier and less refined, then the plan will perfectly fit that need. I’m sure they were described as being angular. A rather generic adjective that, at the time, was commonplace for bands falling into that not really indie not really screamy-emo sound that would more likely fit in with dischord’s catalogue than witching hour’s.
